Sports Trouser Care Guide: Follow the Care Label and Material Record

Care guidance should follow the label on each garment, its material composition and its print or embroidery method. The principles below can help reduce avoidable wear and misuse in routine handling.

Read the garment label first

Washing temperature, tumble-drying, ironing and bleaching instructions on the garment label are the primary reference. Different materials, prints and embellishments can have different limitations.

If the label is missing or unclear, use a gentle approach first and ask the supplier. Do not substitute the care routine of another garment for specific guidance.

Manage routine stains and washing

Turning garments inside out, separating colours and avoiding prolonged soaking can generally reduce abrasion and dye-transfer risk. The actual method must still follow the label.

For garments with special coatings, transfers, reflective materials or embroidery, confirm whether the detergent, temperature and mechanical action are suitable before washing.

Drying and storage

Choose air drying or another method according to the care label and avoid prolonged storage in damp conditions. Store garments only after they are fully dry to help maintain their condition.

For reusable teamwear, recording washing cycles, wear and replacement needs can help with future planning.

Return questions to the product record

When considering whether a care method affects a feature, coating or test result, consult the relevant product or sample record.

A test record applies only to the sample and conditions named in it; it cannot guarantee every routine-use situation.

Check product-specific information

Material and test information must be checked against the relevant product or report sample. Results apply only to the sample identified in the record.
